RECENT Advocacy Efforts
Working alongside the Oklahoma Women’s Coalition, OK State Department of Education, Amplify, Take Control Inc., the Kirkpatrick Family Fund, and the George Kaiser Family Fund to pass a Health Education Bill that will require health education be taught in Oklahoma public schools, K-12. Oklahoma was one of the very last states to have such a requirement.
Opposed HB 1775, which limits race and gender diversity training from kindergarten through college. Ultimately, this bill passed and the Governor signed it into law.
Opposed HB 2504, which would have taken local control away from our city-county health departments. This bill did not pass during the 2021 legislative session.
