Honestly’s Community Assessment
In order to best understand how to serve our community, Honestly and the Collaboration listens to the voices of our community. The caregivers living and navigating systems every day in Oklahoma County are the content experts in their lives and we believe they should be guiding any services and interventions which aim to serve them. Local caregivers have unique needs, beliefs, resources, and challenges in our community, their feedback and buy-in allow services and interventions to highlight their strengths and be tailored to serve their direct needs. As such, Thrive conducts and shares regular community assessments to highlight the voices of those we serve.
Honestly’s team, in partnership with Dr. LaNita Wright, collected valuable community feedback to see what barriers parents/caregivers, faith leaders, and youth-serving community-based organizations (CBOs) were facing when talking about teen pregnancy prevention with the youth in their lives.
